Two years after his debut Love Based Music LP, Damiano von Erckert returns with a new full length LP, Also Known as Good, featuring guitar work from Tyler Pope (formerly part of !!! and LCD Soundsystem), as well as collabs with various members of Damiano’s own ava. family tree: Hodini, Am Kinem, Retrogutt and – as revealed from today’s Debut – Tito Wun. And on that note, hold tight for a very special BR show coming up next month…

As well as being one of Cologne’s smiliest producers, Damiano helps pioneer the laid back, beatsy sound that has come to characterise much of Europe’s current electronic music. What is now a well known trait of this (not-so-much-a-)genre, Also Known as Good, ping-pongs effortlessly between house, hip hop, soul and jazz elements. The album’s closer, “Work for Love” is one of the quieter, more reflective tracks, with the synth’s 8-bit afterthoughts adding a GameBoy-esque dreamy haze to round off the eleven-track album.
