Hunee “Cross Road”

Hunee just happens to be our favourite Korean Berliner. Not only because he’s particularly nifty behind the crossfaders, but also due to his handsome approach to making house and techno. His releases have been few and far between, rightfully choosing quality over quantity with output. But now he returns from a three year hiatus to reveal his long awaited debut longplayer, Hunch Music via Rush Hour.
It continues an ongoing partnership between Hunee and the Amsterdam label—he curated the Soichi Terada-focused Sounds From The Far East compilation back in February.  The album was also recorded in Amsterdam, where Hunee has been living since relocating to the city in 2014 from Berlin via a stint in LA.
Out of the ten tracks, “Cross Road” had most pulling power. Characterised by acid synths and a rolling drum underbelly, it’s cinematic and mystifying in equal measure.
Pre-order the album here.
