IVVVO “Redux”
IVVVO‘s forthcoming EP on Danse-Noire showcases a different side than many have encountered during his Public Information / Opal Tapes-assisted breakout. The grainy textures and darkroom atmosphere remain, sure, but its less cinderblock-in-yer-maw and more greyscale Super 8 cinematography.
“Redux” is an effective distillation of all various styles laid bare across the seven-tracker. Dense ambient drift is pockmarked by unplaceable effects, occasionally thinning to reveal tumbling, lumpen low-end before enveloping the track’s body once again; a surprisingly agreeable turn.
