Kerrier District “Come On Kerrier”

Luke Vibert‘s new album under his increasingly-less-rare Kerrier District moniker is, quite simply, a corker – and we’re delighted to offer up the first taster. 4 is everything we’ve come to expect from the Cornwall hero’s forays into wonky boogie, a deliriously fun detour through the kind of elastic funk he pulls off with panache. It’s no accident that a half-dozen tracks have ‘disco’ or some variation thereof in the title (we see you, “Discuntek”).

It feels as if you could splatter them all together into a deliriously skippy mush; not to say that they’re interchangeable, mind. The closing “Come On Kerrier” provides one last burst of energy, a pitched-up combination of ‘Kerrier’ and Vibert proper, gaudy and giddy and glorious. April 6th is when 4 drops via Hypercolour – dig out your 70s calendars and start marking the days.
