Don yer fleeces, 90s electronica is back! Well, Björk is at least. And so too is Simon Lovejoy, one of her very earliest producers, alongside old recording partner Frankie Valentine on a reissue comp rounding up some choice cuts from their joint catalogue. “Whisper” hasn’t seen the light of day in over twenty years, but truthfully it could have come down the pipeline at any point since. The familiar mix of elliptical drums, house-y piano stabs and all manner of colourful squiggles will always find a happy home. Valentine and Lovejoy, as well as variously appearing on legendary outlets Distance and Balance, also ran a short-lived label called Kooky Grooves – which just about says it all, really.
