Boiler Room and Ballantine’s True Music partnership returns, taking one step further with the Hybrid Sounds project. Working alongside some of the most engaging live electronic acts in the world, we’ll travel to Moscow, Sao Paulo, Beirut and Valencia, on a journey that will explore the links between acoustic and electronic music, uncovering what can occur when these two distinct styles collide.

On each city visited, the artists collaborate on new original material for our next True Music EP — a record that catalogues the exciting sounds captured throughout this project. First up is Moscow, where Overmono, comprised of brothers Truss and Tessela, collaborated with Russian saxophonist, Solo Operator.

The final production, “Foggy Albion,” sees the acoustic tones of Solo Operator’s saxophone dessicated and immersed in a haunting ambient hinterland crafted by Overmono. The six-minute track further expands on the sonic universe Overmono have explored on their output thus far.

“Sacha completely changed my perception of how a saxophone can be played, it was inspiring working with someone so dedicated to their music”, Overmono’s Truss reveals on what appealed about the Hybrid Sounds project.
