When Boiler Room finally touched down in Atlanta earlier this year, bucking up with Awful Records was imperative. As one of the hottest young labels/stables/cliques/whatevers in the world right now, it was only right that we’d dive in with a comprehensive broadcast featuring all 16 of them. Needless to say, it was a consistently rowdy affair from start to finish: a pick up truck, a couple speakers, a bottle of moonshine and a whole lot of blunts is all that was needed to crank up the debauchery — all of that is now available to view in full here.
As if that isn’t enough of an introduction, Father and co have let loose on a truckload of exclusive bounty to coincide with the show: a formal who’s who of the whole gang, a hand drawn family tree design, 20+ exclusive images and some new merch — Awful Records spoil you rotten indeed.

It all started in college, where Father and Archibald Slim were college roommates. They used to throw crazy dorm parties, and, one day, KeithCharles Spacebar and Stalin Majesty popped into one and hit it off with their future Awful comrades.
KeithCharles and Ethereal crossed paths at an art show at the old New Era flagship store in Downtown, Atlanta. Ethereal and Micah Freeman met at Northsprings High School, where they were in a rap group together. Rich Po Slim was also a student at North Springs.
Dexter used to hang out with Ethereal and KeithCharles on the Southside. He started helping Father with his creative media collective, Awful Media Group shortly after.
Slug Christ and KeithCharles became roommates for a short time, and Lord Narf would crash at their apartment for several days of the week, but eventually, the landlord discovered Narf’s dog, and the trio was evicted.
LuiDiamonds, Pyramid Quince and Lord Narf are all Pyramids from the Powder Springs area of West Metro Atlanta. They used to purchase herbal supplies from Ethereal. Carti, the youngest of the Awful crew, also attended North Springs High School. In between classes, Carti would smoke with Ethereal and freestyle over his beats. Naturally, Carti started coming around the squad, and they welcomed him.
Abra went to the same college as Father and Archibald Slim, where she was known as the girl who did the Gucci Mane guitar covers. One day, they stumbled across her video shoot, and were mesmerised by her talent.
GAHM used to hang out at Father’s old apartment, where he was shot one night as someone tried to steal his iPhone 3.
Tommy popped up as a Soundcloud suggestion from a few years ago, and Father and Keith reached out, and began a friendship that eventually led to collaborations.

To commemorate our Awful Records run-in, we decided to make a run of t-shirts with a portrait of Father from that day, shot on film by Pierre Solo and an amazing illustrated Awful Records family tree courtesy of Bootymath. Head here for more information.
