Lejsovka & Freund “Nothing, Just Looking at the Moon”

Now and again, we get Debut considerations from relatively unknown propositions that are absolutely worth pushing in spite of minimal ‘status’. Spousal duo Lejsovka & Freund (FKA Trouble Books if you’re up on your Ohioan experimental folk) are a solid example.

They paint pink-hued textural brushstrokes, set low drones to hover in the air, let piano lines gracefully unspool – and don’t exactly shout about it themselves. So we’re more than happy to help. If you’re after some patient, pretty listening for the onrushing autumn, their new LP Fatal Strategies (featuring similarly genteel soul CFCF on fretless bass (yes, genuinely)) could well be for you. It’ll be available in October, worth making the effort to seek out.
