NKC “Hague Basement”

The Her Records unit are no strangers to BR: their family showcase on our channels remains one of the rugged gemstones in our deep archive. Release after release, their aesthetic has risen with stark distinction: a steady salvo of machine-house and metallic club ammunition, sharply-hewn for dancefloor use only.

Next in Her’s armoury is ‘Hague Basement’ – a bumper single from NKC, one of the label’s most exciting new recruits. Though he’s been an unslippable disc in Her’s backbone for a minute now, his debut statement for the imprint has been a long time coming. Gladly it doesn’t fall short.

Of the three workouts on HER012, its title track is our pick of the litter: a no-nonsense bout of juggernaut drums and vocal incantations, all built to destroy the dance. Urgent, tribal and (really fucking) hard, it’s fuel to feed the tireless few found after lights up in basements from South London to Den Haag.

Grip the whole thing from May 9th.
