We Move, We Resist: A Story of Salvador by BATEKOO

What began as a party in Salvador has grown into one of Brazil’s most radical cultural movements. Born out of absence, of space, recognition, and joy, BATEKOO is now a political and spiritual force at the heart of Brazil’s Black LGBTQIAP+ community.

This film traces the journey from that first dancefloor to a landmark celebration in Salvador, blending intimate testimony, Bahian soundscapes, and raw community energy. Guided by founder Maurício Sacramento, We Move, We Resist is a portrait of a movement where rhythm is resistance, bodies are sacred, and joy is power. Featuring performances and interviews from headliners RDD and O Kannalha during Boiler Room x Ballantine's in Salvador, the documentary is a tribute to Bahia, its culture and its people.
