For many, any reason you can muster to explain why you're smoking weed is worthwhile. Though many moons ago, a group of disaffected youths would use the fact that the clock had just struck 4.20pm to get lean as hell. My guess is they must have just ran out of half price pizza vouchers.

That's basically the idea behind 4/20 - the day where the date matches the numbers of the time that gang decided was the best time to meet up and get blunted. If that didn't make much sense, maybe you just need to get into the festivities a little more.
