Berlin has finally recovered from May 1st and is ready to once again deliver some of the best house and techno currently on offer.
Making their debut for us is the Berlin based Italian duo Mind Against, who had one of the best 2014’s of any new act, debuting in RA’s top 100 DJ’s at number 33 and winning DJ Mag’s best newcomer. This was off the back of a string of releases on Life & Death and a busy touring schedule. They’ve come into 2015 equally strong, with a massive EP with their friend Locked Groove on his home at Scuba’s Hotflush imprint.
Tin Man & Cassegrain are two acts that are need no introduction, having both played separately for us. However this time will be a little different, as they combine their live setups to present something special, which will no doubt reflect the brilliance of their two EP’s on Killekill. Expect a special blend of acid and techno that only these two acts can produce.
Meanwhile it’s hard to know where to start with Sven von Thülen, who as a promoter, writer, producer and of course DJ has been an integral part of the growth of electronic music in Berlin. Most recently known for his sets in Berghain and Panorama Bar, his releases on Spencer Parker’s Work Them Records and his work on co-writing an oral history on the rise of Berlin techno called “Der Klang die Familie: Berlin, Techno, und die Wende”.
We are also very pleased to finally welcome XDB. As a producer his unique blend of deep house and dub techno has found its way onto esteemed labels such as Sistrum, Echochord and of course his own Metrolux imprint.Meanwhile his reputation as a DJ has gathered heavy moss, playing the most esteemed festivals such as Labyrinth in Japan or Freerotation in the UK, as well as most respectable clubs in Europe. This is in part due to technical skill behind the decks, but also his attitude as an avid record collector.
Last but not least we have Diego Krause. The young Berliner has made quite a name for himself in the last year; releasing a string of vinyl only EP’s on his own Beste Modus and Unison Wax labels (which he co-runs with Cinthie). These throwback house cuts garnered much attention worldwide and resulted in an EP on Appolonia, whilst affirming him as one of the fastest rising talents in the Berlin house scene.
