Some of London’s most cherished jazz institutions have programmed a killer blend of live acts and DJs.
Deptford collective Steam Down welcome modern jazz duo Project Karnak and writer, sound artist and educator MA.MOYO aka Belinda Zhawi. Names that reflect the celebrated spontaneity of Steam Down’s regular South London sessions.
Lexus Blondin and Spencer Martin’s Church of Sound jazz axis will be offering an immersive cast of modern jazz exponents in Neue Grafik Ensemble, Lunch Money, Amir Abdullah and Chicago improv collective Resavoir.
Rhythm Section will be blessing the Festival with their widely-celebrated uninhibited dance. Label boss Bradley Zero is curating a space that features a Soft Boy Records showcase w/ Kojaque & crew, the delightful Greentea Peng, louche DC rapper Sir. EU and East London jazz don Alfa Mist.
Finally, we’ve secured possibly the best-combined record collection you’ll find in London as Brilliant Corners founders Amit & Aneesh team up with the Wind & Skins trio of Donna Leake, Ece Duzgit and Debora Ipekal. In addition to their far-ranging selections, further BC flavour is added ℅ Dave Okumu, Tom Skinner, Tom Herbert and Robert Stillman. Musicians that have together played some of the most memorable live performances at Brilliant Corners, they’ll be performing a specially curated live set. Joining them are improv jazz quartet Ill Considered.
Throughout the festival sites, we'll also be exhibiting video work by Jenn Nkiru, Vincent Moon & Priscilla Telmon and Fabrice Bourgelle, plus photography by Adama Jalloh and poetry by Belinda Zhawi.
