Boiler Room present Pussy Riot's first ever London live show.
Founded by Nadya Tolokonnikova & Maria Alyokhina, post-punk Russian art collective Pussy Riot have become synonymous with the vanguard of modern protest art. A rolling cast of political iconoclasts the world over, its foot-soldiers have endured beating, poisoning & imprisonment as a result of their activism.
It's rare that you'll see Pussy Riot billed anywhere –– & even more uncertain is what you'll get. Their 2012 "punk prayer" in an orthodox cathedral in Moscow saw them arrested & sentenced to nearly two years in a labour camp. They dubbed the dates of their American tour as "fake concerts" masquerading as anti-fascist political rallies. The Liverpool date of their Riot Days tour begun with furious male masturbation. This performance is likely to include about as many surprises.
The show will open with a DJ set from Martha.
