Having long been considered the beating heart of cultural innovation in Brazil, Bahia’s unique cultural melange has resulted in a hotbed of localised sounds - from axé, afoxé and ijexá, through to more modern incarnations such a pagode, arrocha, and samba reggae.

Rising from this melting pot, however, is Pagodão: an uptempo, soundsystem-ready take on the more romantic pagode rhythms, which integrates trap, baile funk, house, reggateon and hip hop to create music destined for the dancefloor.
