Make way for one of Boiler Room's biggest dates in the 2017 calendar. This Easter Weekend, we're joining forces with The Warehouse Project to bring an acid house special in the genre's spiritual homeland of Manchester.
While the mad geezas that made it popular came from Manchester, the masterminds behind the genre’s conception came from the home of house music, Chicago. Tyree Cooper, the Awesome Duper Super Trooper, was at the forefront of this revolution and we are blessed to have the legend come spin for us.
Alongside Tyree, we have live sets from Ceephax Acid Crew and Posthuman. Ceephax, or Andy Jenkinson, was the first act that we approached for this show. The man is a legend of the UK acid scene with productions released on the likes of Rephlex Records and Warp Records that represent the more IDM influenced field of the genre. Andy’s live performances are stuff of legend - expect intense silliness
Posthuman are the masterminds behind the UK record label and party I <3 Acid. Having just celebrated their 10th birthday with a special compilation release featuring both legends of the genre and newcomers to the scene, it is safe to say that these guys are modern heroes of genre. Oh and they make some fucking gnarly tunes that along with the smooth n sexy live vocals from Josh Caffe are gonna rock you world
Steven Simpson is the burgeoning talent on the bill. The 20 year old burst onto the scene last year with a brilliant 12” on 10pills and has more of the same in the pipeline. Good to see the younger crew making proper tunes.
