Calentura: Live at MoMA PS1

27 Sep 2015, 14:00 - 18:00 EDT

Connecting multiple generations and genres rooted in New York City's vibrant dance culture, Calentura is a celebration of heavy beats and traditional rhythms from across Latin America and around the world. Representing a new wave of experimental dance music, Calentura brings together tropical sounds from salsa, to cumbia, dembow, booty bass, and more.
The program features live performances from legendary latin soul singer Joe Bataan along with NYC's modern hard-hitting salsa crew Los Hacheros, plus DJ sets from global bass pioneers Nickodemus, Que Bajo's Uproot Andy and Geko Jones, and Subsuelo's DJ Ethos and Gozar.
