Later this month, we're celebrating an unparalleled era of American culture (and spreading it wide: this event is free to attend from 12-6pm every day at The Gallery – EC2A 3NT)
We're absolutely thrilled to have acquired unseen video tapes from the mythic Paradise Garage's closing party in 1987, and will be letting these loose for the first time ever.
The lost tapes will be presented as a multi-screen television installation, 'The Final Night in Paradise', with an exclusive, era-evoking soundtrack by DJ Harvey, taken from his personal record collection.
No cameras were allowed at the Garage yet the installation features never-before-seen original footage of the legendary NYC night club, a rare visual document of clubbing's zenith. The A/V piece mirrors CCTV split-screen monitoring to reveal a Boiler Room-esque voyeuristic window into a night at Paradise Garage.
Included is everything from Keith Haring getting down to Gwen Guthrie, to a young and fiery ESG, to tears on the dancefloor as the lights come up on Larry Levan's last record.
The installation is free to attend from 24-26th November, running 12-6pm daily at The Gallery, an old Victorian brothel in East London (see location above)
We'll also be throwing our own final night to the Final Night in the shape of a classic Boiler Room broadcast party, at Village Underground on Sunday 26th.
Three of the finest disciples of the era join us: Jamie 3:26, DJ Nick the Record and Lucky Cloud / Classic Album Sundays's Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy, all making their BR debuts. It'll be the penultimate big show of the year for us in London, not one to miss miss out.

If you're in London, come down and relive this document of a special time – but if not, still get ready for a week furthering the brilliant legacy that the maestros of the 70s/80s left behind. There'll be much more to come.
