Elijah: Jammz, Mic Ty and Big Zuu

19 Oct 2015, 18:00 - 19:00 BST

Radio is an important point of reference for many a genre. From plays on mainstream radio forming a major part of spreading the message right down to the depths of pirate radio, it continues to be an integral part of music's various scenes. It's the latter in particular that has slipped hand in hand with many of London's blossoming, inner-city sub-genres. Grime is no different.

Pirate radio, and more recently Internet radio is the grime MC's gym; the ideal sparring pad to work out new flows and sweat out the excess. Aided by a number of active stations — like NTS, Radar Radio, Deja Vu and beyond — the newest generation of lyricists rule the underground airwaves on a weekly basis. Most make multi appearances in the week, such is the dedication.

Following on from his discussion with P Money & Bonkaz, grime veteran, Elijah will be inviting three of the most zealous radio regulars in to shine light on their graft. JammzMic Ty and Big Zuu have all graced the Boiler Room screens before. But here, we look to understand the real drive behind their consistent radio regime with an in-depth discussion and live set.

Tune in on Monday 19 October from 6-7PM (BST) to be in on the action.
