We’re thrilled to have Kinshasa collective KOKOKO! brigning their raw energy live on Boiler Room. Fresh from releasing their extraordinary debut album Fongola, we cannot think a better way to celebrate.

Kokoko!’s distorted polyrhythms and spontaneous lo-fi sounds provide a chaotic soundtrack to their home country Democratic Republic of Congo. They’re known for inventing their home-made instruments from materials such as metal, cans, engine parts and plastic containers and using electronics to create genre-defying, hypnotic dance music which they refer as “tekno kitueni”. A torrid, anarchic, youthful journey smashing a new path through modern life in Africa’s third most populous city!

Joining on decks are NTS host Zakia, Soundway Records’s Norsicaa and the sophisticated duo Champagne Funk.
