We're hosting a unique, boundary-pushing show in London featuring a live performance from D∆WN together with a lineup that she and Local Action have co-curated with us: Machinedrum, Murlo, and Yamaneko.
D∆WN – fka Dawn Richard – has spent the last few years carving a singular position at the intersection of electronic pop and r&b. The New Orleans-born singer got her start as part of Diddy-curated groups Danity Kane and Dirty Money, but in recent years has redefined herself as an independent artist. Already in 2016 she’s released music on Local Action and Fade to Mind as she gears up for new album RED•emp•tion.
Ninja Tune artist Machinedrum – known for being a pioneer of many styles – produced D∆WN's recent singles ‘Not Above That’ and ‘Wake Up’ while preparing a pair of new albums (one solo and one with his group Sepalcure). He’ll be bringing his signature blend of footwork and high-emotional electronics to this session.
One of the UK's most distinctive producers and DJs, Murlo’s stock is at an all-time high following his Odyssey EP for Mixpak and THAT remix of Rihanna’s work – while Yamaneko’s blend of ambience and naive, RPG-inspired melodies makes him one of the most distinctive acts around.
