PLEASE NOTE, THIS SESSION WILL BE BROADCASTED ON BOILER ROOM TV ON WEDNESDAY 18 OCTOBER AT 20:00 (UK). ALL SUCCESSFUL RSVP APPLICANTS CAN ATTEND THE LIVE EVENT ON TUESDAY 17 OCTOBER.
An evening of space-age, neo-soul loveliness from three of the most promising female-lead acts around: Moonchild, Ego Ella May and Touching Bass selector, Alex Rita.
In the short space of three years, Moonchild have released two acclaimed albums, and collaborated or played live with many notable names in the soul-jazz scene including Stevie Wonder, Jill Scott, India.Arie, Leela James, The Internet, Kamasi Washington and more. This session comes as part of their first European tour, celebrating one of the albums of the year, Voyager.
They're supported by two ladies from South London. Self-taught songwriter and vocalist Ego Ella May released her debut EP The Tree back in 2013 and has since been teed up as one of the UK's finest soul talents, gaining fans in the shape of UK soul king, Omar Lye-Fook and more. Sandwiched between the live acts is Alex Rita, part of the family at Sounds Of The Universe and London-based soul disciples/dance-doers, Touching Bass. Expect warm selections that approach worldly rhythms with feeling and a strong dance sensibility.
A soothing, Tuesday evening affair lays ahead.
