We’re back in LA as Stones Throw chief, Peanut Butter Wolf curates a weighty cast of local talent. The Wolf’ll be treating us to a VJ set this time round; something that’s not to be missed, for his trove of perfectly matching, self-discovered rare music videos and bizarre clips is seemingly limitless.
Next up, NxWorries consists of Knxwledge and Anderson Paak (FKA Breezi Lovejoy if you get down like that). They go above and beyond just a production and vocals duo – Paak a seasoned vocalist and drummer par excellence, Knxwledge an artist in a league entirely of his own creation.
Mild High Club is the creation of Los Angeles based Alexander Brettin, who has previously recorded and performed with Ariel Pink and Silk Rhodes. He has a debut LP coming up on Stones Throw, too, and will be orchestrating a DJ set.
Also joining us will be Vex Ruffin, and the obscure black wave/synth boogie funk artist Prophet, who vanished after his release Right On Time on Treasure Records (recently reissued, by PPU, naturally).
Shouts to Munguni for the session's killer artwork. For more, go here.
