This Thursday we're back with our second Red Stripe Make Session, and this time we're broadcasting from Austin, Texas during SXSW. To fit in with the ethos of the series we've got a backyard to hold the session in, we've borrowed some speakers and mics and stuff, and put together a line-up which promises quite the jam. A line-up which may I mention is made of all live bands, which is probably a first!
First off, one of our favourite producer guys is coming down - as Sun Araw enters the Boiler Room for the first time. Aside from some pretty astounding releases ast year, he's also just put out a record which sees him reworking The Congos. Which officially makes him one of the deepest guys we know. Kudos!
Next up is Spoek Mathambo, a producer of darkly infused township house. Odds are this will be the most tear out set of the session, shit is going to go down in the backyard.
Then there's the fact that the one and only Matthewdavid is going to be in attendance. A long standing member of the LA beat scene, the owner of the luminary Leaving Records and just an all around swell guy. It's going to get pretty weird I reckon.
Also heading out from LA is Stones Throw's Vex Ruffin. His Crash Course EP is amazing, you should go check that - and then ensure you lock in to see what it's like LIVE.
Nicolas Jaar's Darkside project with Dave Harrington will be there as well. No doubt you know exactly who this cat is so I don't need to tempt you into checking out his set.
Aaaand finally, Jeremiah Jae is coming to the Boiler Room. He's all set to release his album on Brainfeeder antime soon - so you'll probably get quite the flavoursome little taster of what is instore!
