Daft Punk's seminal Homework turns 20 this January, so we're heading back to Chicago to gather some of the legendary house producers shouted out on their track "Teachers" back under one roof. And not just any roof – Smartbar's roof. Many reasons to celebrate.
Following from other true BR highlights in the Windy City – including Phuture's reunion, a Frankie Knuckles Tribute and daytime dance at Gramaphone, and the Chicago vs Detroit tour – this will be another celebration of Chicago's global influence, featuring six of the best Teachers from the city.
The show includes a world first tag-team set between DJ Pierre and DJ Hyperactive; the return of vital second wave pioneers Glenn Underground, Paul Johnson and Boo Williams; a first-time appearance on BR for harder edged Mike Dearborn; and an extended opening set from special guest Ron Trent – because he really should have been named on the Daft Punk album anyway.
If the robots won't do Alive 2017, then Teachers 2017 is the next best thing on earth.
Tune in online on January 28th or if you're in Chicago, tickets are on sale now via Smartbar. It's the only way to get them ➫ http://blrrm.tv/teachers-tickets
