Following shows in South Africa, Cameroon and Kenya, the next episode of our Boiler Room x Ballantine’s True Music Africa series touches down in Ghana for the very first time.
Ghana is experiencing a flourishing music scene, with young artists and dedicated fans controlling the game. There is an openness to explore new sounds, while daring and talented artists are navigating a shifting musical landscape thanks to their devotion and enthusiasm.
We’re bringing together the innovators of new school of Ghanaian music. Kwesi Arthur, Ghana’s breakout rap prodigy and brain behind Ground Up Chale, a music video platform and record label, is taking his anthems to an international stage. The phenomenal La Meme Gang, a collective of rappers and producers, are the trailblazers of the trap movement. Known for their progressive productions and daring performance, they are the reason why fans dye their hair and dress the way they do. Emerging artist Amaarae will be blessing us with her eclectic blend of bold yet sexy lyricism and longing vulnerable melodies. Joining on decks are DJ Mic Smith, Vision DJ, DJ Sam and iPhone DJ spicing up the dance floor.
