The Boiler Room x Ballantine's True Music Forums are a space for the international music community to connect, exchange and build new ideas. The fourth Forum will be held in Valencia on July 25th, the day before the final show of the True Music Hybrid Sounds tour.
The evening opens with a conversation with Nightmares on Wax - Warp Record’s most prolific and diverse artist, whose work blending electronic and acoustic music has earned him the respect of audiences across the globe. Joined by ex-Boiler Room Head of Music, Raj Chaudhuri, the pair will be exploring the complexities of working with live performance within club music.
There will also be two panel conversations on how technology has given artists and their audience unprecedented access to truly new ways of creating. In the first panel - an exploration of what artificial intelligence is and how it is shaping music - film curator Amar Edirwira, founder of Boiler Room’s 4:3 platform, is joined by virtual reality pioneer Ash Koosha (with AI artist Yona).
The second panel, Don’t feed the trolls, is a deep dive into the ‘comments section’ of a generation of artists that have grown up with a social media audience that is not always as welcoming. We sit down with Canadian genre-defying DJ Peach, London selector Donna Leake (Brilliant corners), and Romanian-born DJ Cosmin TRG to hear about their most surprising online interactions.
