To the delight of many, longstanding Panorama Bar resident Virginia is prepping her first feature length release on Berghain’s own Ostgut Ton. With co-production from an arsenal of renowned artists such as Steffi, Martyn and Dexter, Fierce for the Night is said to address the “classic house music narrative” of “love, longing and lightness.” The new project sees Virginia sing over all eleven tracks that incorporate a broad range of melodies, rhythms and sounds. From energetic house to slow paced balled-esque numbers, to more break heavy cuts; all gel as one under the rubric of the love and enjoyment in club culture by smooth vocals that flow excellently alongside each track.

“Follow Me” captures the smooth vocally aided flow that ties Fierce for the Night together. A jungle-inspired break is paired with crisp kick drums, playful chords and a hefty bassline, while Virginia’s soft vocals ride beautifully over the top. A picture is painted of a dancefloor in close conjunction with the DJ, where they dance away until the “break of dawn.”
