Boiler Room
Red Bull Music Academy & Boiler Room present Chronicles – an artist-curated series of events that tells the stories of Australia’s most innovative artists, exploring the people, spaces and influences that have inspired their distinct sound.
The third instalment of the Chronicles series sees long-time partner of Red Bull Music Academy as performer, lecturer and studio team member, Mark Pritchard celebrate the release of his widely-lauded album Under The Sun (out now on Warp). Here, we’ll be broadcasting two unique DJ sets to showcase the immersive sounds and stories that have shaped his almost quarter-of-a-century career.
Pritchard is one of the few artists that has touched the music community with a consistently prolific, game-changing output. He has released seminal works under the guises Reload, Link, Harmonic 313, Chaos & Julia Set, Jedi Knights, Troubleman and Africa Hitech with Steve Spacek – to name a few. Live from Hobart’s renowned mid-winter festival Dark Mofo, Chronicles will see Pritchard deliver two distinct sets that traverse his many influences, aliases and collaborations – from the hard-hitting club constructions of his early career, through to the sonically timeless and poetic textures that permeate his most recent work. These sets will be accompanied by Under The Sun visuals from collaborator Jonathan Zawada.
Stay tuned for what will undoubtedly be a once-in-a-lifetime music and visual experience from one of the greatest.
