A Winged Victory for the Sullen

As part of Boiler Room's continued foray into the worlds of jazz, experimental, ambient and (neo-)classical, we are broadcasting A Winged Victory For The Sullen from the Barbican's prestigious Milton Court Concert Hall, nestled within the Guildhall School of Music. The show will form part of an especially key run in October, alongside Wesseltoft Schwarz Berglund in Amsterdam and Jonny Greenwood in Manchester.

A Winged Victory For The Sullen, comprising one half of revered drone duo Stars of the Lid, are of the most prominent artists today bending the rules of contemporary classical music: working alongside orchestras to stretch the sound into a new form; heavily textured, swooning and deeply stirring.

Their new record Atomos is out on Erased Tapes very soon.
