Broadcast live from Amsterdam
1500 - 1900 (CET), 1400 - 1800 (GMT): Thursday 20th October 2011
Here we go people, Boiler Room is descending upo Amsterdam Dance Event and to get the ball rolling we're throwing a broadcast with Minus Records. With Richie Hawtin presenting Plastikman Live 1.5 at Heineken Music Hall, Amsterdam on Friday 21st October, he's swinging by our temporary Boiler Room spot in a disused office block. Sounds cool eh?
Richie Hawtin has long been one of the most prominent forces in techno, and if you need an introduction you basically need an introduction to dance music.
Joinging Richie will be techno star Dubfire, who describes his music making as "I try to apply a punk ethic to my own music...it has to be groundbreaking, futuristic, unique and organic."
Perhaps one of the biggest blow-up artists ever, Mr Seth Troxler will also be making an appearance. You know, that guy from Visionquest. Should be deep.
Opening will be Minus star Ambivalent, who's enjoying a great year with big release out on Minus & Plus 8 & will be one of the main support acts on the full Plastikman 1.5 tour, including in Amsterdam on Friday. I know very little else about him, but apparrently he likes a beer while he's mixing. Which is what I like to do!
