One of the most singular talents to emerge in a minute, Connan Mockasin has already hurdled the challenge of disappearing into cult obscurity, building a sufficiently strong international following in recent years. Both Forever Dolphin Love and Caramel are strange, quietly wonderful records: melding lo-fi blues, space rock, jazz flourishes, oddball soul and a health amount of rose-tinted psychedelia into the mix.
We were fortunate to grab the mercurial Kiwi troubadour to lay down an In Stereo for Boiler Room in New York City, full band in town. Enjoy (with one eyebrow curiously raised).
