Watergate Records
2016 promises another fruitful yield for Watergate Records with forthcoming goodness from club music nobility – Kerri Chandler, Ruede Hagelstein, Matthias Meyer, Fur Coat & more.
About this mix
With nearly a decade and a half in the game, Watergate is not only one of the world's most distinguished clubs but it's also one of the most prominent and cutting-edge record labels operating today. Since 2008, Watergate Records has been releasing notoriously high quality tunes from artists with close ties to the club as well as legendary names like Kenny Larkin, Ellen Allien, Carl Craig and many more, creating an eclectic discography for fans from all corners of the house and techno spectrum.
With this mix, we take a dive into the current year starting off with two revisions of Ruede Hagelstein & C.A.R.'s "Footprints" and Matthias Meyer's dreamy "Uluwatu"; as well as his own remix of Butch's 2015 hit "Shahrzad". La Fleur and Marco Resmann bounce back and forth for the next three tracks, before the instant classic "Checkmate" from legend Kerri Chandler takes front and centre, opening the doors for two brand new ones from Fur Coat's upcoming label debut.
The mix culminates in a euphoric remainder, with Matthias Meyer's "LA Strings" and The Drifter's massive rework of Ruede's "Footprints" from before. Having appeared earlier on Meyer's recent Watergate 20 Mix, both YokoO & Retza's "Satori" and Gorje Hewek & Izhevski's "Turgoyakk" provide an impeccable descent.
Lush cascades of warmth and melody create the perfect display to capture the sound of Watergate in 2016. Enjoy!
