Dino Sabatini “If (feat. Antonello Salis) [Dino Sabatini Variation]”

Through his musical ventures on his Outis Music label, Italian-born producer Dino Sabatini is committed to deconstructing the ‘either/or’ logic of contemporary genres by merging a luscious variety of styles and talents. Concentrica is project no. 2 on Sabatini’s label offshoot Outis Opera, laying out four exquisite new works undefinable by genre.

Plucked from it is “If”, a collaboration with jazz pianist Antonello Salis that stands as testament to both artists’ rich appreciation of music. Set against a hypnotic backdrop of shimmering electronic ambience, descending pan flutes float permeating a curtain of harmonic strings. Undulating percussion and Indian rhythmic patterns roll the piece along. This signals the beginning of the electronic tones’ descent, slowly releasing you from its hold and placing you firmly back on the ground.

Concentrica continues the voyage of Outis Music’s sub-label Outis Opera. Out July 22nd.
