Manni Dee “Symbiotic”
There’s an air of mystery about this one, which is always nice when you’re talking about ragged-round-the-edges dark room techno. The Leyla label is a brand new imprint out of the Netherlands, from an impresario with impeccable credentials in an entirely different sphere of electronic music, but who is clearly taking very serious steps into “classic techno with a modernist twist”. There’s not so much mystery about Manni Dee, mind. Whether alone or with Happa as Habits Of Hate, the London-based producer has been dropping relentlessly dark tracks for half a decade now, and this is among his best. Watch it cause a riot in the rave.
