Smiso Zwane aka Okmalumkoolkat  was one of the undisputed stars of our recent Stay True Journey to South Africa. Whether sending a crowd mad or giving insight  into the country’s musical underpinnings he was a constantly engaging, intelligent and ultra-funky presence. So when Vienna’s Affine label offered us first dibs on his new remix EP, we didn’t have a moment’s hesitation. This is a super-anthemic beast of a rework, taking 80s synthwork into the future on a self-assembling starship – and is it us, or does our man have a bit of a Giggs flow at one point?
