Since Funkineven first came across him via his regular NTS show, Dublin-born, Leyton-raised Shamos kicks off the new year by releasing his debut EP on Funkineven’s Apron Records label. Road Works Part 1 features four original cuts of factory-line techno, each peppered with its own flavour – a dark bassline here, a synth melody soaring overhead there. “Ode To Lynch” stands out in etherealness, reminiscent of Pogo’s sound-delayed Disney loop, proving Shamos’ diversity of computer music.
