Tall Black Guy has been a loyal beats/hip-hop disciple for some time now. The Norwich-via-Detroit beatsmith has carved himself a lane where the likes of Pete Rock and Madlib first trampled, repeatedly breathing new life into obscure oldies; and every time with neck-breaking bounce.

His running streak continues with his second step into album territory, out via DJ Gilla’s First Word Records imprint. Let’s Take A Trip follows on from 2013’s 8 Miles To Moenart, which also came out on Gilla’s soul-orientated label. “Peace And Love (feat. Masego & Rommel Donald)” acts as a primer for the archive of our FW session from not too long ago.
