Cristian Vogel is as creatively footloose as his potted life story might suggest: a German-Chilean, he grew up in the British Midlands and has been based variously in Brighton, Barcelona, Berlin, Geneva and Copenhagen. In the mid-90s he was a bona fide techno superstar, revered by his peers and playing to huge crowds at clubs like Tresor – as well as half of the insane electronic soul duo Super_Collider with Jamie Lidell. Since then he has dug deep into art and electro-acoustic music, ballet soundtracks and academic research – but never lost touch with his club roots, and never stopped flying his freak flag high.
