Octave One “Jazzo/Lose Myself (Paul Woolford Rework)”

There’s not really much else to say about this one. The names dropped in the title alone lets your ears know what they’re in store for.

Detroit’s Burden brothers, more commonly known as Octave One, have been making classic techno from their roots since 1990 – and, much to our pleasure, have continued to produce, DJ and play sensational live sets as though no time has passed. 25 years on, their music still fuels the dancefloors of 2nd gen. techno lovers, as well as being picked up and reworked by modern dance music’s most valuable players –  of which Paul Woolford is most certainly one.

When asked about his “Jazzo/Lose Myself” rework, Paul shared that Octave One and their 430 West label “have been inspirations to me for so many years. We met through mutual friends and immediately connected, following various gigs together globally. It was an honour to be invited to work on something for the Detroit label. My intention was to bring out the soulful edge of Octave One’s sound and place it within the framework of a track that would work towards the end of the night.” If techno be the food of love, play on…

Paul Woolford’s rework is forthcoming on Octave One’s 430 West label. Stay tuned for some very special incoming news about Paul Woolford and a certain Boiler Room celebration.
