There’s nobody quite like Graham Dowdall aka Gagarin. A journeyman musician on the underground for decades, he played with the likes of Nico (the Velvet Underground, not the Ed Rush compadre!) and is currently a member of avant-rock survivors Pere Ubu. But he’s remained keyed into new music his whole life long – from ambient to grime – and whether it’s in partnership with folktronicist Roshi or in his own solo work, there’s always something sparklingly new about his electronic soundscapes. His upcoming album Aoticp continues that, and this is a scary, beautiful, epic track from it.
