Some weeks we chuck topics back and forth for a while before finding something topical for our Saturday Six. Not so this time. There’s been one thing on our mind all week, and that’s the finalising and announcement of our pair of Frankie Knuckles tribute shows at the end of this month in Chicago.

These shows are all about representing not just Knuckles’s legacy, but that of the city where he made his musical mark, so there was no way we were going to dig into any other section of our vaults than that which contains the dons of Chicago. This half dozen is made up of house and techno demi-gods strutting their stuff everywhere but their home town. These are the men who made modern dance music, so pay your respects here.
